About

RBC Training Ground Event Space

RBC Training Ground is a talent identification and athlete funding program designed to find young athletes with Olympic potential, and provide them with the resources they need to achieve their podium dreams. The program travels the country searching for athletes between the ages of 14 and 25 that will fuel the Canadian Olympic pipeline.

In 2022, RBC Training Ground National Final took place at EY Centre in Ottawa. As the star of the show, the athlete testing space had to be turned into an impactful branded experience supporting athletic testing and content capture on-site.

Given almost 30,000 sq ft of a blank canvas, we had to come up with a solution that evenly and creatively fills out the space leaving no gaps in the camera view, is flexible and adaptable in controlling venue experience, and creates a clear and unconstrained athlete journey.

Once our envisioning and the concept were approved, we had a chance to go for a site visit. Being tactical, we had to ensure we take into consideration each and every detail, from strategically positioned lighting to materials selection and placement of each station.

Working together with the selected vendors, our team managed to successfully find a solution for such an amazing initiative as RBC Training Ground.
